Crossed: An Update

Well, much to my dismay, the pediatric ophthalmologist confirmed that Roo is indeed crossing her eyes again. There’s no rhyme or reason why this is happening. We were told repeatedly that there would be a 30% chance of the surgery not being permanently successful. I always knew that it could happen but I didn’t think it would happen so quickly – and, neither did her doc.

So, for the next 6-8 weeks, we try patching again. We go back for an appointment in early March and we see if there has been progress. If not, we try glasses again. If that’s unsuccessful than we do another surgery.

Sigh. More work. More worry. It never seems to end. Trying to remain positive and hopeful.

  1. Just wanted to let you know my husband had this as a kid. His eyes are not crossed as an adult (although his 3D vision is kind of crappy). If they could fix it in the 70s, they can probably do even better now.
