On Thursday morning, Roo is going in for two ultrasounds: one on her torso and one on her head.  The dermatologist who looked at the hemangiomas on Roo’s body last week recommended we get an ultrasound to make sure there are no internal hemangiomas.  Who knew those were possible?  I barely even knew what a hemangioma outside of the body was before last week!

For those of you who don’t know what they are, you can read more about them on PubMed.

In addition to the ultrasound, she has to have some blood drawn and we need to collect three stool samples to make sure there is no internal bleeding.  YIKES!

I’m most nervous about not feeding her for three hours before the u/s.  Poor baby will be hungry and cranky!  I feel bad for the poor person who has to do the u/s.  I also feel bad that she will have to get another blood draw.  My poor little baby girl has had so many medical procedures done on her in her short life.  I hope that she feels ok after.

So, think of us on Thursday morning and I’ll keep you all posted once we get the results.

  1. My friend’s baby did have the internal hemangiomas and they ended up given him a medication that he has to take for a year. But he’s doing 100% fine and they haven’t noticed any side-effects. Good luck!
